Adult Learners’ Week is the UK’s largest annual learning festival. Each year we see over 10,000 adults in Wales participating in Adult Learners’ Week activities. The aim of this campaign is to raise awareness of the value of adult learning, celebrate the achievements of learners and providers, and inspire more people to discover how learning can positively change their lives. This is achieved by working with a host of local providers delivering free taster events to prompt adults into returning to learning.

This year our Adult Learners’ events will be held from 10am to 4pm on June 6th at “Y Man a’r Lle” on Coleg Ceredigion’s Cardigan campus and in the Bandstand, Aberystwyth on the 20th June.

There will be information stands from various educational organisations, training providers, local projects and groups to give you advice about the different learning opportunities available in Ceredigion.

Dysgu Bro, Ceredigion Training, Coleg Ceredigion, Lifelong Learning and Welsh for Adults Aberystwyth University, Adult Learning Wales and the University of Wales Trinity Saint David will provide hands-on half-hour sessions. Would you like to learn something new or try something different? Come and have a go at some activities in subjects such as First Aid, British Sign Language, Carpentry, Plumbing, Blacksmithing, Hair and Beauty, Chinese Language and Culture, Welsh language tasters, textiles, digital photography, video using an iPad, health and wellbeing apps, puzzles and games, face painting and much more.

Learning throughout your life can help you gain a new skill, feel more confident, find a new hobby, meet new people, get a qualification, further your career, find a new job or just to have some fun.
